Biography
Brian Cheong is a second year MASc candidate at TRAIL, with research interests in autonomous vehicle systems, computer vision, and machine learning. He has experience developing novel computer vision algorithms for mobile robotics and HMI applications. Brian previously served as a Technical Director for the aUToronto self-driving car team at U of T, leading the team to multiple first place finishes at the GM-SAE AutoDrive Competition. His current research explores the gap in performance between LiDAR-based end-to-end object trackers compared to classical tracking-by-detection methods in autonomous driving.
